hello hello, I’m octavia.

i write essays on culture, pop culture commentary, film & literature analysis - to name a few things.

Few things about me - I’m still on Tumblr in 2024, a certified dweeb, and a queer southern comrade fighting against the alt-right in a purple state.

why do i do this?

well… I already work in the digital media landscape but I’ve been wanting to get into cultural & media criticism seriously for some time.

As an english nerd with an art history degree, I’m not letting these student loans go to waste!

criticism is an area that can be so elitist and annoying, BIPOC voices are held to an extremely high standard, undervalued, and under-appreciated so I want this to be a space where that isn’t happening.

I hope you subscribe, you won’t wanna miss out on all this :)

stay updated

these writings may come in random bouts but I can certainly guarantee you will see writings from me at LEAST once a month.

and if not you can yell at me in the chat or twitter about it :)
